About drop x drop
I'm Shawnee.
For years I've been saying "it's time" — time to tell the stories, time to explain what I'm building, time to put myself out there, time to show the work, time to make all the random pieces make sense.
Then I'd let another year pass. Honestly, the commitment to the bit was almost impressive.
drop x drop is me finally making time.
It's where I document the build in real time — the agency (DropUp), the brands, the wins, the face-plants, the money lessons I learn the hard way so you don't have to, and life as a wife and mom of two boys — with life at home about to get a whole lot busier (more on that soon).
No guru stuff. No "ten steps to seven figures." Just one person building in public and telling the truth about it.
What to expect
One honest drop a month. Every month.
Written by me, not a ghostwriter. Photos from my actual camera roll. The real lessons, always — and the real numbers when I can share them.
If I miss a month, subscribers have full permission to reply with "it's time" and roast me accordingly.
The pillars
Every drop falls into one of these buckets:
Drops from the build — what we're building at DropUp and beyond, while we're building it
Drops from the story — how we got here (it's weirder than you think)
Drops from life — family, motherhood, faith, the 5AM club, all of it
Drops from judgment — strong opinions, honestly earned
Bold moves — the leaps, and what they actually cost
Start here
New around here? Read the drops in order:
The story of DropUp — the LinkedIn message, the Gulf hat, and the Spotify playlist that started all of this
It's time to stop saying it's time — the return essay: perfectionism, chaos, and why I'm finally making time
Then hit reply on any email and say hey. I read every single one.

P.S. — drop x drop is the owned publication. DropUp is the agency. I'm the human. That's the whole brand architecture, and you're welcome.
P.P.S. Full transparency: this About page is actually a blog post in a trench coat. Beehiiv wants $43/month for a proper custom page, and that's a dollar too much — 42 is my magic number. So until the math works, we're being resourceful and creative over here: no spending money we don't need on functionalities we don't need yet. When this list earns the upgrade, we'll do it right. Drop by drop. 💧
